We are delighted to confirm details of our 2020 AGM.
The event will take place on Wednesday 22 April at Askham Brayn College in the conference hall.
Our guest speakers will be the Natwest Community Banking team talking about 'Scams and how to spot them' and our special invited guest is Mr Jeremy Mainwaring-Burton LVO, Former Equerry to Her Majesty The Queen Mother.
Mr Mainwaring-Burton attends to bring us a highly entertaining, illustrated talk about his life at The Castle of Mey, the only property The Queen Mother ever owned, at which he was first a serving Equerry then invited guest before being asked by the Castle Trust to undertake the task of opening the castle to the public. We will hear what life was like in those halcyon days, not only for those lucky enough to be invited but for their hostess. Time permitting, Mr Mainwaring-Burton can also answer questions on the Queen Mothers fabulous collection of jewels which she would often take off to let him inspect.
Booking forms are being sent out with the February newsletter next week and places are limited so book early!
