ABOUT US
Formed in 1983 the YCA exists throughout the region to promote companionship, crafting and the importance of community. We bring ladies together from all walks of life, generations and backgrounds who go on to form long lasting friendships. Whether you wish to simply attend meetings with guest speakers, attend country shows as YCA ambassadors or join our committees, you will be warmly welcomed by all.
We have over 45 Branches throughout Yorkshire who all share this aim and are waiting to welcome you.

Inspire yourself - our Manifesto
We believe there’s something special about the women of Yorkshire:
They don’t give up easily, they know their own minds and they take life with a pinch of salt.
We exist to celebrate and promote that spirit, to make the most of our time and share it with like-minded women.
We never take life too seriously, and we don’t live by other people’s rules.
We love our Yorkshire heritage and we’re proud to be YCA
The History of the YCA
The YCA was formed in 1983 by Mrs Audrey Totty after the National Federation of WI's decreed that the Yorkshire Federation should be split up into four parts to embrace the re-arranged County administration boundaries.
Audrey's values of friendship, heritage, community and pride in all things Yorkshire still form the basis of the YCA as it is today.
The Association is overseen by a Central Committee with representation from each of the 3 Ridings. Each Riding has its own committee which form the hub where local events are organised and activities coordinated.
